In an ideal world, there would be no need for volunteering.
Abuse, Cruelty, Neglect is the reality of today’s world & biggest pain point for the animal rehabs & shelter homes like us. The increasing number of abandoned and mistreated animals compels us to make a loud appeal to one and all to come forward & join us in caring for these speechless & homeless beings. We need YOU.
Get to know what & how you can contribute & this being a noble task, may even inspire you to becoming a hero to many speechless souls in need.
Be a Hero Today!
The primary role of a volunteer at our Rehab in Mumbai, India is to socialize and walk the dogs, as well as socializing the cats and puppies. For dogs and cats at the Rehab to be adopted into homes, it is essential to teach them to trust people and to teach dogs to walk on a lead
Almost all of our animals are former street dogs and cats who have never been indoors and need to learn to feel comfortable around people.
We strongly encourage volunteers to spend a month or longer at our Rehab. When volunteers stay for at least a few weeks, they build close relationships with the animals and you can see them become more bonded to people. We particularly need volunteers who enjoy giving tours of the shelter and talking with visitors.
If you would like to volunteer with the animals at the Rehab or if you have questions, please email email@example.com
AMTM is currently lucky enough to have adequate veterinary staffing to provide medical care to the hundreds of animals at our Rehab. At this time, we are not in need of veterinarians to perform surgery. If you are a veterinarian or veterinary technician/nurse interested in volunteering with Animal matters to me, Mumbai’s medical team, you can best assist us by helping with the medical management of cases in our clinic.
Applicants should be self-guided and have the ability to multi-task as well as communicate in a professional manner with members of the community and Rehab staff members. It is our hope that volunteers experience hands-on interaction with patients, learn technical skills, and participate in diagnostic and treatment decisions. Enthusiasm for the human-animal bond is essential!
