The number of animals being abandoned is on the rise. The number of homeless strays on our roads is on the rise. The number of birds injured and maimed by our festivities is on the rise. While each of us may not be in a position to shelter these helpless creatures directly, we can easily help those who provide for them.
Maharashtra’s largest sanctuary for abandoned domesticated animals, strays and birds is coming up in Vithalwadi, Kolad. This is a labour of love undertaken by Animals Matter To Me (AMTM). This massive project will see light of day only if we all come forward to help.
AMTM is a registered not for profit organisation that has worked in the field of animal welfare for the past 8 years and already runs a shelter cum hospital in Malad, Mumbai.
