7 fun summer activities to do with your dog

It’s time for fun in the sun with your best friend! Here are some of the perfect summer pastimes that you can enjoy with your dog.

Plan a picnic

What’s better than picnics in summer? Think cold ice creams, cucumber and cheese sandwiches under shady trees and a cool breeze. You can read that book you’ve been putting off for ages and your dog can enjoy unfettered, wide open spaces and get some sun, sand, and fresh air.

Hiking

Hiking might sound like the last thing one would want to do in the summer, but trust us – it’s special. Try going for an easy hike with your pet in the cool early mornings. A shaded trail might make you and your pet fall in love with this activity, and if not, a spectacular sunrise will definitely do the trick!

Water bodies

Consider going to a water body and cool off with your dog. Beaches, lakes, ponds, pools – take your pick. . And if you feel like it’s too far away or likely, too crowded, you can simply turn on the sprinklers in your garden for a spot of fun. I mean, do we really need an excuse to enjoy a rain dance with our dog?

Farmer’s markets

Increasingly, farmer’s markets are allowing dogs into the premises these days, so you can have fun shopping with your pal by your side. Though you’ll have to keep your pooch on a leash, your dog will likely not mind at all – what with so many strangers fawning over them and giving them treats.

Paw painting

Have you seen videos on Instagram of the artistic doggos painting? Well, it’s time to find out if your dog has an inner Picasso or not. And if he doesn’t, then consider doing some fun paw painting with him (while you do hand painting).
